Good mental health and well-being are essential for all of us to lead fulfilling lives, to realize our full potential, to participate productively in our communities, and to demonstrate resilience in the face of stress and adversity. However, there is an increase in anxiety disorders and depression. The consequences of these disorders in terms of loss of health are enormous since it contributes to the disability of the population. With the aim of positively influencing the mental health of the population of Mexico, Ecuador, Chile, Brazil, Peru, the Netherlands and Spain, a team of mental health specialists, the team of researchers, designers and engineers developed a free and self-applied so that users acquire tools that support the development of skills to maintain mental health, generate well-being and reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression. The platform is adapted to each of the countries and the contents are available in Spanish, Portuguese, Dutch and english.

Sensitive to this, the ITLAS research team, along with other researchers from the National Autonomous University of Mexico, the Autonomous University of Ciudad Juárez, the University of Buenos Aires and the International University of Valencia, set out to offer a platform Duelo COVID, which is designed as a self-applied intervention, available completely free of charge, which can be accessed at the following address: www.duelocovid.com. Duelo COVID Ecuador

The Duelo COVID Ecuador Online Platform is a validation / adaptation to the Ecuadorian context of the Duelo COVID platform, which has been successfully implemented in Mexico for the psychological accompaniment of the duel. It is structured in the same 12 modules that make up this self-applied platform.

Based on the principles of UX design, the online platform aims to respond to the emotional needs of users who have gone through a recent grieving process, to prevent the establishment of complicated grief.

The online platform will shortly be available to the Ecuadorian population, given the great need for psychological support to the grieving processes derived from this period of pandemic.
